Community Ambassador Collaborative

Applications are now open!

Overview

The Community Ambassador Collaborative provides a dedicated space for participants to build confidence in speaking publicly about problem gambling by learning how to share their stories with the media, community leaders, decision makers, and elected officials.

The Collaborative creates opportunities for individuals with prevention, treatment, and lived experience to engage meaningfully in raising awareness and participating in advocacy efforts around problem and disordered gambling. This initiative empowers participants to use their voices and perspectives to strengthen, expand, and improve the state’s problem gambling prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts.

Collaborative goals

  • Support and Train

Offer supportive training to help Ambassadors grow their public-speaking and storytelling skills to maximize their impact.

  • Empower

Empower Ambassadors to confidently share meaningful stories about their experiences with gambling, and equip communities with practical guidance to make changes that reduce gambling harm.

  • Build Community

Cultivate a speakers bureau of Ambassadors with lived experience and prevention and treatment expertise to raise awareness about gambling’s impacts and advise communities on reducing gambling-related harm.
