Clinical Conversations: Why Isn’t Gambling Screening Routine Yet?
06-10-2026
12:00 PM

Join Katrina Arroyo, LPCC, LICDC-GAMB, ICGC-I and fellow gambling treatment professionals for an open forum and guided discussion on gambling screening.

Despite growing recognition of gambling-related harms—especially in the era of online betting and algorithm-driven engagement—routine screening for gambling disorder remains inconsistent. This open forum invites participants to explore the disconnect between awareness, knowledge and implementation.

Participants will examine systemic, clinical, and cultural barriers that prevent gambling screening from becoming standard practice. Through guided discussion, real-world examples, and shared experiences, the group will identify practical strategies to normalize screening, integrate it into existing workflows, and better respond to gambling-related risk.

This virtual learning opportunity will take place on June 10, 2026, from 12:00 - 1:30 PM

Cost: This is a no-cost training opportunity.

Learning Objectives
1. Identify key barriers preventing routine gambling screening.
2. Recognize how modern gambling environments impact detection and disclosure.
3. Develop practical, setting-specific strategies to incorporate gambling screening into routine practice.
