Case Presentation: Social Determinants of Health and Problem Gambling: Influences, Risks, and Interventions will take place on May 12, 2026, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.
Social determinants of health are factors that greatly influence a person’s quality of life, involving finance, education, healthcare, housing, and social support. As with other societal issues and behavioral health conditions, problem gambling can be affected by and influence where someone finds themselves within these social determinants. This case presentation will highlight how inequities in these areas can be related to problem gambling while also providing brief examples of how these impacts have affected different people. A holistic approach is considered in addressing these concerns while working with clients to improve their overall well-being

Continuing Education:
1.0 CEU is available for this training, which can be used toward obtaining or maintaining the GAMB Endorsement through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board or towards becoming a counselor qualified to treat gambling disorder through the Ohio Social Worker, Counselor, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.
Problem Gambling Network of Ohio is an approved continuing education provider through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board, the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board, and the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Certification Organization.
Presenter: Jesse Wodrig, MBA, LCDCIII-GAMB, OCPSA
Presenter Bio:
Jesse is the Director of Clinical Programs for PGNO. Jesse has worked in the treatment services field for 10 years primarily working with clients living with substance use disorders. He has both direct service and administrative experience in this field. Starting in 2020, he started trainings to build competency to assist clients living with gambling disorders, and this has become his primary professional interest. As the Director of Clinical Programs, Jesse heads efforts to connect clients to telehealth services for assistance in treating gambling disorders while also facilitating occasional trainings.
