Community Readiness Assessment

Grant Application

This project addresses a critical gap in Ohio’s problem gambling prevention system by equipping local agencies, community groups, and coalitions with the tools to assess their community’s readiness and translate findings into data-driven insights that guide future prevention efforts. By beginning with the Community Readiness Assessment (CRA), this project ensures that future strategies are rooted in evidence and tailored to community needs.

Eligibility

  • Organizations, coalitions or community groups that apply must be Ohio-based. Strong preference will be given to organizations that are Prevention-Certified through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
  • Each team must include a minimum of four members who will fully participate in the Community Readiness Assessment process.
  • At least two members must conduct and transcribe 8-10 stakeholder interviews.
  • At least two members must score the interviews using the Tri-Ethnic Community Readiness Model scoring process.
  • Of these, one member must be designated as the Team Lead to ensure that all processes are followed accurately and completed on time.
  • Teams must actively participate in all aspects of the CRA, including interviewing key local stakeholders such as service providers, community members, and local leaders.
