Integration of Mental Health and Gambling Prevention in the
Scope of Practice for Prevention Professionals in Ohio

In 2015 the scope of prevention professionals through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board was broadened to including behavioral health and gambling prevention. This training will explore the implication of this change, and how prevention professionals can prepare to further integrate behavioral health and gambling into their initiatives.
- Participants will explore the concurrent yet separate develop of behavioral health, drugs and alcohol, and gambling prevention.
- Participants will analyze similarities and differences between behavioral health, drugs and alcohol, and gambling problems and their implication in prevention practice.
- Participants will explore instances in which integration is and is not appropriate to address this issues.
- Participants will explore strategies to increase communication and networking between professional within these different fields.
This training is approved for three CEUs through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board, Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage Family Therapist Board and the National Council on Problem Gambling. This training meets the requirements for the Domain VI: Professional Growth & Responsibility for OCPSA/OCPS/OCPC.
