The Indiana Problem Gambling Awareness programs is offering a one day trainingfor counselors, therapist, social workers, prevention professionals, and those working in the behavioral health field.  This training will improve your knowledge about Cognitive Reprocessing Therapy.

Cognitive Reprocessing Therapy

November 15th, 9:00am – 4:00pm (6 CEUs)  

Cognitive Reprocessing Therapy is a counseling approach created by Patricia Resik. This approachcombines flooding and CBT to first evoke the feelings and get the person able to tell their story and then apply CBT principles to develop skills to limit effect of trauma on present day situations.

Location:  Monroe Convention Center, 302 S. College Ave, Bloomington, IN 47403

Trainer:  Cindy Houston, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC is an experienced mental health therapist and trainer. She presently works in both areas, having retired in 2016 after nearly 30 years providing services and trainings through Centerstone of Indiana.   She presently provides trainings in trauma issues including EBT protocols and addictions issues. She is a recognized trainer in Motivational Interviewing and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers since its beginning. Prior to working at the mental health center, she cofounded and ran a battered women's shelter and taught college courses. She holds graduate degrees from Northeastern University in counseling and community psychology. She is also a graduate of the New England Gestalt Therapy Center.
