It’s time to have a conversation about today’s gambling picture and how it can impact a family and a future. Gambling can be fun and one of many recreational activities, but when a person loses control, gambling can be destructive and even deadly. Many community service professionals come in regular contact with problem gamblers who may be filing bankruptcy, facing court judgments for non-payment, divorce, depression, alcohol/drug abuse, suicidal thoughts, criminal charges, and other life damaging consequences.
The Paint Valley Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services will host a two-hour seminar on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ross County Educational Services Center.
To RSVP, email Bill Showman at firstname.lastname@example.org. 2 CEs are being offered for CDCs, SWs, Counselors, Psychologists and nurses. We need your frontline assistance to ensure that those who need help due to uncontrolled gambling will get that help. Counseling at a publicly-funded service agency is at no cost to the client.
