Applications Now Being Accepted for Problem Gambling Services Advisory Board

During the 2015-16 biennium, OhioMHAS and its collaborative partners, including the behavioral health service system, county ADAMH/MHRS Boards and the Commissions of Casino Control and Lottery, gathered information and took part in research to establish a Strategic Plan for Ohio Problem Gambling Services. One of the findings of this work was a recommendation to establish an Advisory Board for the state’s Problem Gambling Services. If interested and able to participate in quarterly meetings – both face-to-face and via conference call – please complete the Membership Application and email to no later than June 3, 2016.

Representatives will be chosen based on background, experience, interest and engagement levels, and cultural and demographic diversity within the state. OhioMHAS will launch the Advisory Board with a meeting on Tues., Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon in Columbus. In-person participation is necessary for this organizational meeting. A small nominating group will determine 18-20 Advisory Board members and 2- or 4-year term lengths. Applicants will be notified by June 24.
